A special workshop entitled "Exploring Japanese Mid-Autumn Festival and Making Wagashi" took place at LHU from September 11 to 13, 2024. The event organized by LHU's Department of Japanese Studies attracted the participation of more than 1,000 primary students from Lac Hong Bilingual School, and many students, lecturers and staff from LHU.
The workshop aims to help the participants gain a deeper understanding of Japan's unique culture during the Mid-Autumn Festival, at the same time learning and experiencing how to make Wagashi, the traditional Japanese sweet under the enthusiastic guidance of Wagashi artisan Song Thuy.

During the three-day workshop, many students majoring in Japanese Studies from LHU actively joined and supported the primary students throughout the cake-making process, helping to connect young generations with Japanese culture, while developing event organization skills and interaction with the community.

Especially, all the participants can bring home their wagashi cakes, creating memorable memories of a Mid-Autumn Festival not only in Vietnam but also in Japan.
This event has brought new knowledge and exciting experiences to all the participants while contributing to promoting the cultural relationship between Vietnam and Japan.
