Final of Chinese Language's Got Talent 2023

The Department of Chinese Language under the Faculty of Oriental Studies, LHU on November 18 afternoon hosted the final round of the Got Talent Contest 2023, the 5th Chinese Consulate General Cup in HCM City. 

The finale saw the presence of Mr. Xu Chou - Deputy Consulate General of China in HCM City; representatives of Chinese business associations in Vietnam; Mr. Tran Quoc Toan - Deputy Director of Dong Nai Department of Foreign Affairs. From LHU, there were DSc. Lam Thanh Hien – Rector; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Vu Quynh - Vice Rector; Dr. Nguyen Huu Nghi - Dean of Faculty of Oriental Studies; Nguyen Thi Hoang Oanh, M.A – Head of Office of International Affairs; leaders of Departments; lecturers and students of Chinese Language Department.

The contest attracted the participation of about 500 students from 6 Chinese Language training universities including HCM City University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Nguyen Tat Thanh University, Van Lang University, HCM City University of Foreign Languages and Information Technology, Van Hien University and LHU.

In his opening remarks, Mr. Lam Thanh Hien, Rector of LHU said LHU has constantly expanded its exchange relationships with inside and outside organizations and businesses. In particular, the Department of Chinese Language under the Faculty of Oriental Studies is one of the strongest units in building relationships with foreign businesses.

The Got Talent Contest creates an opportunity for Chinese Language majors to learn more about China's people and country and improve their foreign language skills; a playground for students to show their special talents, also a place to promote friendship exchange between LHU and the Chinese Consulate General in HCM City, foreign-invested enterprises and Chinese language training facilities in the Southern region such as HCM City University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Nguyen Tat Thanh University, Van Lang University, HCM City University of Foreign Languages and Information Technology, Van Hien University.

Many impressive repertoires were performed at the final round 

At the final round, 20 finalists impressed the audience by their special performances which were diverse, imbued with Chinese culture as well as invested in props and techniques.

As a result, the Jury awarded 2 First prizes to LHU and Nguyen Tat Thanh University, 4 Second to LHU, 6 Third and 8 Consolation prizes to LHU, HCM City University of Foreign Languages and Information Technology, HCM City University of Social Sciences and Humanities and Van Hien University, respectively.

Giving scholarships to students with difficult circumstances

On this occasion, LHU awarded full scholarships to 19 difficult students with a total value of more than 200 million VND.
