[Health and Wellness Programs] Comprehensive Sexual and Reproductive Health Support for Students

Our institution guarantees free and confidential access to essential sexual and reproductive health care services. By offering robust information and education, we equip students with the knowledge they need to navigate their health, relationships, and reproductive decisions responsibly and confidently.

    I. Knowledge:

Pre-marriage health care focuses on the period from early adulthood until marriage — a crucial stage for developing awareness of reproductive health and emotional readiness. In today’s world, as people mature earlier and delay marriage longer, the pre-marital phase has extended, increasing risks such as unintended pregnancies, sexually transmitted infections, and reproductive health issues among young people.

Many couples enter marriage with little knowledge of reproductive health, which can lead to misunderstanding, emotional strain, or even infertility. Common issues like undiagnosed reproductive disorders, misconceptions about sexual health, and lack of medical consultation often affect marital happiness and family well-being.

Benefits of pre-marriage health care include:

    • Preparing couples psychologically and physically for marital life.

    • Detecting and managing potential health conditions early.

    • Ensuring safe, satisfying, and responsible sexual relationships.

    • Promoting family planning and reducing birth-related risks.

    • Preventing congenital disorders and improving future child health.

Effective pre-marriage health education starts with awareness. Understanding its importance encourages individuals to seek proper medical counseling and adopt healthy lifestyle choices — building a strong foundation for a happy, stable family and a healthier community.

II. Counseling Workshops and Educational Webinars

Webinar 1: Pre-marriage knowledge, skills, and counseling workshop

Held at Room B203, Campus 1, Lac Hong University, a training workshop on pre-marriage knowledge, skills, and counseling was held for students from universities and colleges across Dong Nai Province. The program was jointly organized by the Dong Nai Provincial Student Association, Lac Hong University Student Association, and Dong Nai General Hospital, attracting the participation of 150 students.

During the session, students attended and discussed two key topics:

    • Topic 1: “Contraceptive Methods” presented by Dr. Le Van Thuan, Department of Obstetrics, Dong Nai General Hospital.

    • Topic 2: “Updated Knowledge on HIV Prevention and the Use of PrEP Medication” delivered by Dr. Tran Le Viet Thanh, Specialist Level I.

    • The workshop aimed to equip students of pre-marital age with essential knowledge on effective contraception, HIV prevention, reproductive health care, and family planning. It also guided students in building happy, equal, and progressive family lives in the future — a proactive approach to addressing population aging challenges in the coming years.

    • 2. Webinar “First Step to Confidence” – Sexual and Reproductive Health for Gen Z Students

In an open and inclusive atmosphere, the “First Step to Confidence” webinar encouraged students to explore key knowledge about sexual health, consent, and self-protection.
Organized as part of the 2023 Pre-Marriage Health Counseling Journey, the event was co-hosted by the LHU Youth Union, Student Association, and School Counseling Unit, in collaboration with the Dong Nai Provincial Student Association.

    • The session emphasized self-awareness and responsible love — reminding students that self-care is the foundation of healthy relationships.

📍 Venue: Room A301, Campus 1 – Free admission and open participation.
    • III. Our Vision
