Overview

A Product Specialist is the next career progression after a Pharmaceutical Sales Representative. This position focuses on market analysis and marketing strategy support. Product Specialists need in-depth technical/clinical knowledge of products and work closely with various departments within the company.

Main Responsibilities

Participate in market analysis and support marketing strategies.

Master the technical information of products (characteristics, uses, dosage, side effects, drug interactions, precautions, etc.).

Understand the market and competitors.

Be proficient in pharmaceutical industry regulations related to marketing, distribution and customer care processes.

Master legal regulations regarding clinical trials, drug registration, advertising and drug distribution (e.g., FDA and EMA regulations).

Train and support the sales and marketing team on products.

Explain complex technical product information to partners and customers.

Market research (assessing customer needs, usage trends, factors influencing purchasing decisions, potential opportunities).

Competitor analyze (products, strategies, pricing, distribution channels, strengths/weaknesses).

Product trend forecast.

Collaborate with the R&D department in product improvement, providing market feedback.

Actively participate in product-related projects.

Required Qualifications and Skills

Education: Bachelor's degree in Biomedical Engineering, Medical Technology, or related fields. Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy/Medicine. College degree or higher in Business Administration, International Economics, or related healthcare fields. Strong knowledge of pharmaceutical products and regulations related to product development.

Experience: Minimum 1-2 years of experience in medical devices, pharmaceuticals, consumables, or healthcare. Preference will be given to candidates who have previously worked at a multinational company and have practical experience with specialized products such as rehabilitation equipment, diagnostic imaging, or ETC channels. Experience working in a specific geographical area or experience in product development and management is an advantage.

Certifications or training in medical robots for stroke treatment are an advantage.

Clinical expertise (neurosurgery, cardiology, physiology, post-stroke rehabilitation).

Excellent verbal and written communication skills for technical and clinical discussions.

Ability to connect with leading industry experts (KOLs), healthcare providers and cross-functional teams.

Ability to handle technical issues and address customer concerns.

Proficient in collecting and analyzing market and competitor data.

Understanding of robotic systems, medical software and equipment installation processes.

Proficiency in English is mandatory.

Accurate reading comprehension of information on medicines and pharmaceuticals.

Ability to work independently and effectively in a team.

Clear, concise, and understandable communication.

Understanding of pharmaceutical regulations and company procedures.

Strong consulting, presentation, communication, and negotiation skills.

Dynamic and responsible.

Ability to work under high pressure and travel frequently.

Proactive and eager to learn.

Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word & Excel).

Salary and Benefits

Domestic companies: 12 – 18 million VND/month.

Multinational companies: 20 – 30 million VND/month (excluding KPI-based bonuses).
