[FAIE: International Business] First-Year International Business Students Gain Practical Experience at ICD Song Than – Binh Duong

In order to provide first-year International Business students with opportunities for practical learning and updated professional knowledge, while also supporting lecturers in enhancing their expertise and implementing the program’s training plan, the Faculty of Management – International Economics organized a field trip to observe the operational processes at ICD Song Than on the morning of March 28, 2025. This visit offered students the chance to gain deeper insights into warehouse operations, information systems, and cargo storage management at one of the key logistics centers in the region.

Accompanying the students were the following lecturers:

• Ms. Nguyễn Thị Bích Thùy – Head of the International Business Division

• Ms. Trần Thị Kim Chi – Head of the International Transport and Freight Forwarding Division

From the enterprise side, professionals who guided the students included:

• Mr. Tống Xuân Long – Warehouse 7, Kimberly-Clark Distribution Center

• Mr. Đoàn Trầm Thăng – Warehouse 6, Marico Distribution Center

• Ms. Dương Thị Mỹ Hạnh – Policy, Statistics, and Training Officer

During the visit, students were introduced to warehouse operations, including inbound and outbound procedures, classification, arrangement, and inventory management according to international standards. They also learned about information systems such as Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), Transportation Management Systems (TMS), and logistics connectivity platforms used to optimize Smartlog’s operational efficiency—from order tracking and transport coordination to the application of technology in supply chain management.

The visit not only enhanced students’ practical understanding but also created opportunities to connect with industry professionals, clarify career orientations, and gain valuable real-world knowledge for their academic journey and professional development in the field of International Business.

Huỳnh Kim Ngọc Mây, a student from class 24KQ111, shared her reflections after the field trip to ICD Song Than:

“The field trip to ICD Song Than gave me a clearer view of logistics operations, from inbound and outbound processes, arrangement, and storage to inventory management through the software systems applied by enterprises. The visit not only reinforced the knowledge we learned in class but also helped me better understand the real-world operations of the industry, providing an extremely valuable practical experience.”
