    [FAIE: Entrepreneurship] Dong Nai Startup Project Advances to the Southern Regional Final Round of the Women’s Innovative Entrepreneurship and Green

    The series of events for the Southern Regional Final Round of the 2024 Women’s Innovative Entrepreneurship and Green Transformation Competition was held in Vinh Long Province. This marks the sixth year that the Vietnam Women’s Union has organized the Women’s Entrepreneurship Competition under the theme “Women’s Innovative Entrepreneurship and Green Transformation.”

    The competition aims to encourage and motivate women from all social backgrounds and age groups to actively engage in entrepreneurship and business start-ups; to identify, select, award, and honor enterprises/cooperatives/cooperative groups/household businesses owned or managed by women that demonstrate outstanding initiatives in improving production processes, developing new products and services, introducing new business models utilizing renewable energy sources, implementing organic, clean, circular, and environmentally friendly production models, and contributing to the goals of ensuring a green transformation process based on principles of equality and inclusiveness, enhancing the economy’s resilience and competitiveness, and contributing to the implementation of the National Green Growth Strategy for the 2021–2030 period, with a vision toward 2050, as approved by the Government.

    In the Southern Regional Final Round of the 2024 Women’s Innovative Entrepreneurship and Green Transformation Competition, 18 outstanding startup projects will deliver direct presentations, introduce the novelty and innovation of their products, goods, and business models oriented toward green development or with the potential to create positive environmental impacts, and answer questions from the judging panel.

    The competition also serves as a networking platform connecting enterprises, investors, partners, and relevant authorities to support and accompany startup projects that have the capacity to efficiently and economically exploit and utilize energy and resources based on science and technology, apply digital technology and digital transformation, and realize women’s business start-up and entrepreneurship ideas and projects nationwide, thereby contributing to enhancing women’s economic empowerment and promoting gender equality.

    Dong Nai Province has one project advancing to the Southern Regional Final Round of the Women’s Innovative Entrepreneurship and Green Transformation Competition. This is the project “Enhancing Production Capacity and Promoting the Commercialization of Certain Natural Health Products” by contestant Nguyen Thi Yen, owner of Yen Loc Rung Household Business (Thanh Son Commune, Dinh Quan District), with PhD Nguyen Van Tan – Head of The Faculty of Administration International Economics (FAIE) – serving as the project advisor.

    Projects winning Third Prize or higher will continue to compete in the National Final Round, expected to take place in October in Hanoi.
